Monkey, bless your heart. So glad you were able to find a place that was happy to take your donations. That's is the type thing I kept running into, one of the donation places here wanted me to give them $40 to take a working computer, keyboard, mouse, and tower($10 for each piece). Our area is just now stepping up on the recycling, that's the reason we were so excited Thursday to find the free electronics drop off.

What got me was none of the stuff was junk. I could tell by the look on their faces that they actually expected me to give them everything else. Wrong. I'm not going to play that game. If someone goes to a sale on a farm, they're after machinery, tools, livestock, kitchen ware, antiques, etc. With today's gas prices and the time it takes to get here, nobody is going to drive out to farm country for a rummage sale. So, if places make it hard to donate, I'll just dump everything that is not keep or sale.

Happy1 Still working on the craft challenge-Large media center(done)

My dad made my husband this large media center. Over 6ft tall, has 4 sides and turns. I finally got it stained and ready to go. It will hold almost 1000 dvd's. Now I can round up all the dvd's, cd's, xbox 360 games, Playstation 3 games, vhs tapes, and books that are all over the house and get them into this one spot.

before-in my waiting/holding junk room that is slowing getting cleared out again.

after-ready to start rounding up everything, all the old surround sound (dusty) soon to be taken to recycling. One more project down!

MomWalker, nice job your father did building that media center. You did a great job staining it. It looks great! That thing is HUGE.

That looks great! I need one of those. I bet that came in pretty handy putting everything away.

I wont be doing too much today. DH is home so we're gonna have some family time. We only get to see him on the weekends. I'll pick up some here and there but for the most part, we'll probably be playing with the kids and watching movies all day.

I can't believe I used to pay full price!!

momwalker - that's a great project!

Too exhausted to do much. Had to go to work much earlier than usual. My body is rebelling. I think I'll go through the mail get rid of the junk and line up the ones I need to address on monday. I also have a bunch of old perscriptions to get rid of. I'll black out our info but I need to find out how to safely dispose of them. May need to ask the pharmacist.

I used to post in this thread but havent in quite sometime.. So here goes what I have been doing the last few days.. Cleaning out closets and going through clothes. I have a box of clothes to sell, a box to take to my FIL, a box to take to my sister and a box to donate.. I have little to nothing left in my closet and I feel ok about that.. I have clothes to wear and got rid of all that wouldnt fit except a few peices.. Feels good to get rid of unecessary stuff!

I usually just flush old pills but best to ask. You never know what may or may not be good to flush. Lol

I can't believe goodwill turned down such a great donation! Sometimes I wonder! Spent the afternoon with a fellow Wuckie shopping the deals at CVS. I have worked on picking up the clutter, picking berries, taking out plenty of trash, dusting, groceries, and making a cheesecake for the dinner I'm having for my Dad & hubby tomorrow in honor of the great fathers in my life. I'm tired, but the clutter still calls me!
