Just wanted to share a tip I heard today. If you're like me you have a hard time getting rid of clothes because you **MIGHT** need it. Each January turn all the hangers backwards in the closet (so they hook from the back) and then once you wear it, wash it, and hang it back up turn the hanger the right way. At the end of the year anything that is still on a backwards hanger must go.

I missed out joining in yesterday. I had a family Christmas for most of the day, and then I just didn't feel good after that. But today I am feeling like my usual self and made up for lost time

27 books to donate
11 stuffed animals to donate
1 game to donate
6 (at least) other kid items/toys to donate
1 stick of deodorant given away
1 box of index cards to donate
1 index card box to donate
3 baby items to donate
2 binders cleaned out and contents thrown away
12 random items (at least) thrown away

DH is home from work for the next days to help me get our storage room converted into a homeschool room. He also threw out several things today. We're feeling good today and hoping for equally good results tomorrow. He took one load for donation today to the local food pantry/homeless shelter, and I think we have just about another full load ready for Friday (the next day they are accepting donations).

We plant a lot. Peppers( all kinds), onions, tomatoes, okra, peas, butter beans, corn, and well I could go on and on. We grow almost all of our veggies. I think you are close to me? South AL, right? We have a long growing season so we grow a pretty big cool weather garden that is just going down.

It was ironic that I found this subject tonight. We are moving soon and I really do not like to move. I bought a 96 count of Hefty trash bags and I intend on filling them up. I have 20 on my porch now to go to the recycling center. Thankfully there I can purge in one place. There are bins for Goodwill, books, recycling and trash. I had no idea how much junk we had. My cabinets were packed with misc. small appliances that we never use. I had three shelves full of expired spices and vinegars etc. My girls have enough beauty products to stock a drug store. Now each member of the family is limited to one small basket for the hall closet. I am a new minimalist. May need to research that one more.

Eh it needed some help from me. I got everything off of it and threw it out the back door. I have all the ornaments and lights put away. I am still working on cleaning up all the stuff that was under and around it. And now I can sit on my couch to watch our new tv lol the tree was blocking my view.

I actually purged my house last month, I think I took about 50 bags of trash and recyclables out of here. I gave away 3 bags of clothes to my cousin this week for his son. But I have more clothes and sheets to go through...6 more of the 30 gallon bags worth. I decided to wash every item of cloth we have in the house and then go through it all. If it is torn, it goes to the trash, and if it doesn't fit anyone, it gets donated to someone or the local rescue mission.

I am so jealous. We have very limited grow time so unfortunately our garden takes up our entire yard and my child has to play in the neighbors yard if he wants grass.

Didn't get a whole lot done today.

Cleaned litter box

Hubby got the kids Christmas present out of the livingroom and put it together. It's been raining so hasn't really been able to. It was a basketball goal/hoop.

Tossed-
Ice cream bucket. Well, actually I used it as a scrap bowl for my dog first.
Magazine
Junk mail
Random papers

Once the trash gets dumped tomorrow, I can remove the stack of trash I have in the corner of my room. It has boxes, tore wrapping paper, expired coupons, etc.

Found a few more clothes to put in the back of my car.
