Food Lion Ads -- TOTALLY DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON REGION

Before you shop be sure to check your ads. I noticed my friend June said she had eggs for $.50 each -- but that is no where in my ad. So I looked up a zip code near her (she is only 1 hour from me) and her ad is 8 pages and mine is 4. They look completely different.

If you don't believe me look up my zip code 22630 and a zip code near June 22801

So before you go to the store to do any deals we talk about in the forum, check your ad.

I hope NC can get those eggs and bread at a lower price the prices are crazy expensive over here :( Its rare that FL has a sale on eggs and bread

My mom lives one town over from me and our ads are completely different.

That's crazy! I just had to look it up and our FL here in Mount Jackson does not have the eggs 2/$1, but the one in Timberville does. It's so funny, they are so close to each other and have totally different adds. I am sure I have some reason to be out that way anyway, so I may still luck into the eggs. Seems like for our region I am right on the line between those that do and those that don't LOL.

Did a Walmart Express just open up near the ones getting the .50 eggs? When the one opened up 5 miles up the road from us, Food Lion ran .50 eggs, .50 bread, $1.95 gallon milk, etc.

Even now our eggs are still $1 and the Walmart Express opened back in November. Plus I recently got $10 off $50 purchase coupons in the mail for just my FL and our FL is also doing a promotion where spend $25 a week for 6 of 8 weeks and get $15 credit.

Sounds to me like Food Lion is trying out a bunch of different things feeling the heat from the other stores to compete. Hopefully this works out good for all of us in the long run. I sure as heck know I've shopped more at FL lately because of the better deals on eggs, bread, milk, etc.

Ads are often different, within store chains and regions.

I have 4 Food Lions, nearby- Mt Jackson, 7 miles, Timberville, 6 miles and Harrisonburg, 17 miles....

The ad I'm working out of says it's good for Elkton, Fisherville, Grottoes, Harrisonburg, Stauton, Stuarts Draft, Timberville, Verone and Waynesboro, VA (so my Mt Jackson store will have a different ad)

Hope this helps !

My local Timberville store is one that is getting a major overhaul/remodel as part of the "NEW" Food Lion..so I think some of the promos in my region maybe because of that

Yes, but this different is completely new for Food Lion. If you pull up the 2 different ads they look completely different. Formats and everything.

Your ad, June, looks like what Bloom's ads used to look like. My ad looks like the old FL ads. In the past, Food Lion would run regional meat deals and sometimes one store would be BOGO on an item while another store would have a 2 for $$$ deal on the item. Usually they were the same items, just different prices. This time around the ads are really different. I just want people to be aware of it so they check their ads before they plan their trips.

I just got back from the food lion in Hanover PA. A dozen eggs are $1.72 and a loaf of bread is $1.24.

I think it has to do with the remodels. My local stores were all remodeled over the last few months. Once the remodels were near completion, Food Lion began rolling out the new ads. A lot of emphasis has been put on produce and My Essentials products. Also at checkout the other day I received the following Catalina coupons:

Save $1 off your next Multi-pack Bottled Water (any brand) purchase of $3 or more
Save $1 off your next Household Cleaners or Supplies (any brand) purchase of $3 or more
Save $1 off your next Frozen Vegetables (any brand) purchase of $3 or more
Save $1 off your next Trash Bags, Food Wraps, or Food Storage Bags (any brand) purchase of $3 or more
