5/7 Publix - Feeding the Cravings...
I hit up Publix over the last few days to do 3 transactions. I had quite a bit I wanted to buy, and wanted to cash in on the last $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupon I had. I spent quite a bit more than expected on my last transaction, but I wanted to splurge on Meat and Shrimp, which is just fine. Because I save so much the rest of the time, I'm allowed to once in a while.
I hate to say it but once again I didn't have the best experience at Publix this morning. I found everything I wanted, but when I got to checkout, there was only one lane open, with an older lady. I had a feeling she was gonna give me a hard time and she did. My first transaction with her for my bounce and soap, she took 5 minutes to look over my 4 coupons before putting them thur. Didn't say a word, just stared at them, I guess trying to find a reason I couldn't use them. As we moved on to my next transaction, she wanted all my coupons at one time. No way sister. I hand them over in sets. I don't spend all this time, clipping and organizing, so you can miss a few of those hard earned $$$$$. This must have pissed her off, because she began grabbing my sets from me, and didn't even bother to scan most of them, just put them in manually. When it came time for my $5/$20 Nestle Target Coupon, she didn't want to take it. I explained that the Pizzas and Stouffers were made my Nestle, I had spent $22 so I was allowed to use it. She hurried off to Customer Service. While she was gone I said to the bagger, "She's not very coupon friendly, is she?" Her response, "She's just trying to make sure shes doing her job right"
I said, " I understand that, but there is a nicer way to do it"
When she came back she didn't say anything, just rang up my coupon and handed me my receipt. I told them both to have a nice a day. Once I got home, I sent a email off to Publix to let them know, that she wasn't the friendliest. Publix advertises everywhere that they are the most coupon friendly store, so if she doesn't like it, she might wanna find a different job.
But all in all, I came out great, I used all my coupons like I wanted and here is what I got!

that's a great trip!!!
I'm amazed at how you handle those situations. I get nervous and I'm just now getting to the point where I stand up for myself if I KNOW I did right. I had a bad experience at Bi Lo, complained, and went back in a few days later. I normally am scared to face the person again, but this time I went in and just chose the same person and just smiled. I was proud of myself, and couponing is giving me a back bone and teaching me how to stand my ground because if you don't, you'll get walked all over!
Thanks. It took some time to get this way. I used to let them bully me into handing over all my coupons only to find out later they missed a few. I hate having to go back to customer service if I can avoid it, especially now that I have a newborn! I still get nervous, but I try to make sure all my deals are totally legit, so I can argue the facts.
