For those who kept track of your April receipts and savings totals, this is the thread to report that in.





REMEMBER:

To make this a little more fun, I am drawing a winner from all those who have posted with their savings totals for the month.

The winner will receive an envie of q's from their wishlist (if possible) or a potluck of q's if I can't match the wishlist or a wishlist it not available.


Drawing will take place on the 5th of the month.

with that said, here are my totals:


April’s Savings: $3,723.40
oop was $906.95
gift cards used $21.79
80% savings


(another month of some trips to Lowe’s for things for the house, a trip to the used bookstore, and another monthly sale trip to Goodwill)


Take you total oop and total saved and add them together.
Then take your total saved and divide that by the total you just got above.
That will give you your %.





tallied up for the year thus far:

YTD Savings: $15,615.07 (that is from coupons, reg price vs sale/clearance, store cards, etc.)
YTD Total OOP: $6282.99 (take in consideration the huge washer/dryer purchase included in there, etc)
YTD total Savings: 71%

January's Savings: $4,877.24

January is a big shopping month for me since I hit the after Christmas sales and snatch up bargains on items I can use as gifts throughout the year for birthdays, baby showers, etc. January is also one of the months we usually go to GoodWill for their 50% off everything in the store sale (first Sat. of the mo. here) to find clothing items that the children are in need of.


February's Savings: $3,513.07
oop was $2908.46
gift cards used $6.60

February's purchases included a new washer/dryer set so my OOP is a lot higher for February. I managed to save $$ on that set with a discount coupon as well. So $2,305.41 of the oop total is the washer/dryer. That leaves $603.05 for everything else which is food, non-food, and some other items we bought during the month that were not groceries.

March's Savings: $4,072.65
oop was $1109.38
79% savings
(another month of some big stuff but hopefully it will start lowering the oop soon)

April’s Savings: $1660.31--just savings of coupons. do not keep track of savings with sales.
