Question Marks Can you do this? Rebates as Donations

I thought of a great idea... If you can do this I am not sure. But say you do rebates and its 1 per address, household, etc. But you still have enough receipts like Olay rebates spend $50 get $15 gift card to do multiple rebates....

can't you just fill them out and have them sent to an animal shelter / rescue or any other charity. I mean as long as you have someone's name or just make it out to someone who works at the charity.

I just thought that this would be a great idea if your rebate comes in the form of a prepaid visa card..

Is this acceptable to do?

I mean I get these and sometimes they sit in my purse with like .25 or something on them..

Its $$ I never had so I would never miss it.. every $$ helps a charity....

and then you don't have to pay fees to donate $$ online to them.

I think most of the rebates exclude organizations as recipients but a great idea.

Most of my NBPR say "one per household", so if you knew someone at the charity, you could always give them everything ready to go except their home address and they could fill it in. Just make sure that it's someone who wouldn't use it for their own gain.

Also, I think most rebates require you to sign something saying you in fact were the purchaser of these items.

Most rebates state that they are not valid for organizations or non profits. Something like that. I can't remember exactly.

O.k. here is some language from one rebate, but I have seen it worded differently:

"No requests from groups, clubs or organizations will be honored."

I know most beer rebates require the one submitting to put their signature on the forms. I don't remember the Olay forms had a signature line but I agree with the previous posters, I don't think organizations are allowed to submit for rebates in the organization's name.

Individual members of the organization may submit, but then it will defeat the purpose of what OP intends, since the check will be written to the individual, not the organization.

Most will not allow requests from groups or organizations. So even if you put a 'name' on the form it would not be validated. Plus they say one per person, so you wouldn't want to get that person in trouble if they filled out a form to their home address.
Also one per address, if a lot of people tried it would probably flag it as invalid since several requests to the same address would show up.
