Default No Beer Purchase Required Rebates (NBPR rebates)

I wish someone had told me about these years ago. I don't know which states you can use these in but if you can do these you need to. I have read a lot of posts lately from newbies about feeling overwhelmed by the Qs. You don't need Qs to make these deals work. Of course, you can get a better deal with Qs. To show you how this works I went grocery shopping today without any Qs. I know I just heard a collective intake of breath and a gasp.

Here's what I did.

Transaction #1

Laughing cow cheese (for my LO who is learning to feed herself) $4.29 x 2 (one for my house and one for grandma's)

Chicken tenders (for my lunch) $1.64

honey mustard sauce 79 cents

Total with tax was $11.50 but I will get $5 back in a NBPR rebate for buying $10 in deli items. I did get a lunch and two things of cheese for my baby out of this.

Transaction #2

Sirloin strip steak $5.69
Chicken tenders $6.69
Chicken tenders $6.31

Store loyalty savings was $6.72

I paid $12.21 but thanks to a wonderful trader on this site I am expecting a NBPR rebate for save $10 on a $10 meat purchase. Yes, you read that right and yes I said that right. So, I got three packages of meat for $2.21. Like I said, this is a wonderful way to save money on your regular grocery items that you may not have Qs for.

Transaction #3

Bananas 98 cents
Potatoes $3.07
Sweet potatoes $1.39
Strawberries $2.99

Total with tax after store loyalty card was $8.10. Thanks to another trader I have a NBPR rebate for save $6 on a $10 purchase of various items (including produce). These receipts will go with a few others I have to send in that rebate.

Transaction #4
Ice creams sandwiches for DH $3.99
Steamfresh meal $6.99
Two frozen pizzas - one at $1.66 and one at $1.67

Total after loyalty card was $11.03 and I will get $5 back in a rebate for buying $10 in frozen items.

I could have tried to make my OOP a little lower by trying to get right at the minimum purchase required. However, I had my LO with me and that little bit of money was not worth it. We bought some flowers this morning and have plans on planting them today.

If you live in a NBPR state you need to troll your beer section in your store or this forum (lots of people pick up extras and will trade or send you one if you send a SASE).

I live in NC so I know these are available here. But think about all I got and what I paid. Yes, I had a high OOP but I will get back most of it in rebates and I could have bought more if I used Qs.

Thanks to those of you on this site who introduced me to my new best friend - DH says I love these more than him.

Thank you for this post because I had no idea what states offered them and no idea where to look but I wanted to bring this great topic to the newbies attention.

It is almost impossible to find the forms in the states that do not require the beer purchase. The best way is to find here or on Ebay.

I live in Indiana, so I guess I'm out of luck....but my younger sister (23)just moved to North Carolina. I would love to let her know how to save with this NBPR thing. I still have no clue exactly what it is though other than saves you money on meat purchases, lol.
What exactly do I say to my sister?
I know that she has to find the form in the beer section. Is there an address to send it to and she just fills it out? Will they send a card that she has to have scanned at the stores to get a rebate? Or does she have to fill out this form every time she goes shopping and send it and the reciept off for a check rebate? Please let me know. She is still young and all by herself out there and needs to watch her budget.

Yeah, I have never seen these in my state and I had suspected it was because it is a NBPR state so they don't bother promoting it.

Look at the cardboard beer displays in the beer section. These are regular rebate forms that you fill out and send to the address on the form. They will then send a rebate check. I hope that helps.

Tell to check out Food Lion~Krogers and Bi-Lo. When I went on vacation last year I had to hit all of them up looking for the rebates. Don't forget the hanging wine tags in the stores. $x/ meat, cheese/bread that are there too.
