I've used them several times here in Memphis Tn. with no problem but call before purchasing to be on the safe side. Most of them have a phone # listed on the info page.

You do realize that most servers make 2.13 an hour, right? Tipping is very much their "salary" and not a "bonus". 15-20% is considered standard.

Granted, for poor service, a lower tip is called for...but rarely would I not leave a tip (only twice in my life have i ever not left a tip)

Restaurants.com discount program is fantastic, however I do advise checking with the restaurant management to see if their establishment currently participates in the discount program.
As long as you check participation first, eat second, you will be ok. A Phone call costs little, yet the discount will save so much!
Shhhh! Be va-wee, va-wee quiet. Dee is shopping for bargains!

The $10 certificates you usually have to spend at least $20, the $15 ones you spend $30. But its still a great deal. Some major restaurants it says you have to tip a certain %.

It is definitely a good idea to call the restaurant you plan to go to, before purchasing the restaurant.com certificate. It also has an expiration date so if you can't use it during the time, its wasted money.

It doesn't work for us, there's too much things to check like valid ONLY during lunchtime with hours stated, minimum purchase amount required and all other things to follow.

I've used 10-15 of them (joined the dinner of the month club when it was deeply discounted) and had no real problems. Once when I was on vacation I bought a certificate and then found out the restaurant had closed a month or so before. They gave me a refund within 24 hours, which I found quite accommodating.

As far as the restrictions go, I try to choose the ones that are $25/$35 with no exclusions of alcohol or "must buy 2 entrees." If you find ones like that, you can do a happy hour (drinks and appetizers) for 2 for the $10 difference you have to pay!

We use them all the time as well. We mostly buy them when going on vacation. One time, we used one to take our best friends out for their anniversary.
