I had just about the worst experience ever today and it had nothing to do with the store itself. I was about an hour and 1/2 away with my three boys 4.5, 2.5, and 3 months and my mother. We had carefully planned this trip as a trip with my boys always goes crazy. we get to our destination...a 3 yr olds birthday party. Come to find out even with us both checking things a million times the babies diaper bag is not in the car. I dont know this area very well but I finally found rite aid. The staff was friendly and helpful as i looked like i had lost my mind tears rolling down my face etc. I felt like a total idiot and horrible mom. So I am looking for one of those packs of diapers that has 5 or 6 in them i have seen them other places. nope and the only kind that they had in his size instock were the mega pack of luvs. I am looking through their formula out of the smallest can in the kind he uses but they had the little single serve bottles. not the most cost efficient but i would have had to buy the biggest container they had, a pack of bottles, bottled water etc. At this point i am literally bawling because I have coupons and rebate checks for the formula at home I had printed a 5/25 my good luvs coupon was sitting in my pile of mail from the other day...
37.53 cents later I have my ready bottles and luvs. I about died. if this was going to happen why couldnt it have happened on the 17th instead of the 18th so i could have sent away for that fall savings thing. The only good thing to come out of this is i can get a scr on the luvs! Horrible feeling to have spent that much money but I felt even more horrible for forgetting the bag to begin with. I guess we all have those days and now i dont think i will ever forget the diaper bag again! |

EmmasMom is right....we have all been there. You have 3 kids under the age of 5....I think you're allowed to forget things.
If I had 3 kids under 5, I probably wouldn't remember my name. |

once the initial shock was over and i went out to buy everything it all hit again!
Knowing i could have at least halved that total with what coupons were at home irked me. But if I had remembered to bring all my coupons I should have remembered my diaper bag! |

I wouldn't worry about it! Yes it does suck that you spent that much money, but I personally think it is good every once in a while to run to the store and buy things like we would have done before the couponing began. It definitely reminds you why we spend so much time doing this!
Plus, try to remember, over the last several months you have probably saved so much money that it is ok for just this time! Maybe start keeping your coupons with you at all times too! ![]() |

As they have said above..we have all ben there..just a tip..always keep at least 5 diapers and a tub of wipes in your vehicle at all times and a set of spair cloths for the little one..for the just in case..that way you would have just had to buy the formula..I know hindsight is 20/20 but maybe this could help for future incidents..

thanks. Yeah I am going to add the diapers and wipes to my moms car now! I dont have my own vehicle and my hubbys is too small for all of us to go anywhere together. we dont really all go out like this unless its in someone elses car. After yesterday i will never forget it again!
Kimburdie I wish I could! with no car to call my own i just take what i can get for a trip to the store. I wish i could just leave my binders in a car and be sure they were ways there. But it is a good idea. As far as the paying full price thing goes, I wish it was just a matter of it being a reminder of how things were b4 couponing. I get formula on wic and had gotten my months supply of diapers free using cats from a pillsbury deal using my food stamps. I am not trying to pull the poor me card but now i cant pay my whole water bill this month. That is why I coupon. Just to survive. In a few months I will hopefully look back and laugh but for right now i just see my stupidity as a double slap in the face. Thanks for the suggestions to all of you and I really hope I can follow some of these one day. |

I know the feeling.Even with 7 children, you'd think I would know to double check to make sure I didn't forget something. I've forgot the diaper bag more times than I care to remember. Now I leave it in the van and make it a point to ask the 10 year old if he would check it to make sure it's loaded for me.
