I've been reading that safeway has re-worded there $10/$50 coupon to read can be used with manufacture coupons. It use to say $50 must be reached after coupon or something to that effect. I've read somewhere....not sure where I was reading it, that safeway has started allowing the use of the $10/$50 after coupons. I have also read that it is up to each individual store.

I went to the assistant manager at our safeway and asked him about it, and he said . "we don't feel that our customers should be penilized because they are using coupons. our store is getting money back for each and every coupon so why shouldn't you be able to use the $10/$50 with your purchase?"

I used two of them today....all I had time for. The first cashier was extremely confused. Aparently she has never heard anything like this.

I'm wondering what is happening with everyone else. Are your safeways allowing the use of the $10/$50 after coupons as well? Is there someplace official that we can read about? safeways secrets about the dot com $10/$50?

one other thing, isn't it logical to do this rather than have us go through the line 5 x's to get the $10 off anyway? thats really what I do...I go through 5 plus times. if I was able to do it all in one transaction they would have me gone faster. they would probably get more of my money to because i would see the $10 hop off right away and the would be easier than going through over and over.

I don't know... all I can say is I'm with envy that you have the $10/$50.

the mgr at the SW i shop most at, in woodburn,OR, is they first swipe the SW card, then scan all the in ad store coupons and it the total is over $50 then then they scan $10/$50 then the man coupons... i still have a few of the clerks say i can't use the $10/$50 until they scan the man coupons and i have to ask them to call their mgr and some do and some don't and just scan it....

I've gotten into the habit of hanging on to my high value and free coupons and use them when they offer the $10/$50

mommy2three i'm sorry. i know what you mean. i'm always wanting those cvs deals and there is not one for about a million miles from here.......well unless instead of heading toward the son and back I just go clear across the states but even then its about a 3 days drive away.

So sad that they used to be $10/$50 and one a month for us... AND I NEVER SHOPPED THERE, so I just ended up throwing SO MANY away... argh... grumble grumble oh well...

And I do as Ancientone does, I hand them the $/$ coupons FIRST...
