What do you consider a stock up price for paper towels? Do you go by the square footage or by the roll?

I use dancinmama's method known as the "back door method". I don't really pay attention how much you get just as long as its free. At cvs, they normally have charmin or cottonelle part of ECB or cash card sales spend $30, get back $10. I build up ECBs and then cash in on these products. A good example was the Nivea glitch last night. Those rewards earned could score you 3 charmin 16 double roll packs free plus get back a $10 cash card.
To clarify, the back door method is using/rolling store rewards to get things that are normally harder to coupon for. |

It's still free for me using the "backdoor method" that red mentioned above, because finding a sale where paper towels are free after sale and coupon is almost impossible these days.
In the summer, Rite Aid had a glitch on their Home Improvement gift cards where you got $10 in UPs for loading $20 on a $20-$200 gift card. Limit (2). Yes, I had to spend $40 to get the gift cards, but it was money I knew we'd spend easily at Home Depot or Lowes anyway, so as far as I was concerned, the UPs earned were a bonus. Then within a week or two, RA had an UPs promotion for Bounty Basic 8-pks. and there happened to be a rare $1/1 Bounty out at the time (probably off a 6 pk. or larger), so I maxed out that deal rolling my $20 UPs into Bounty Basic (OOP was sales tax only) and getting (4) 8-pks. of paper towels to add to my stockpile. I did take a huge loss in UPs (that were a bonus to begin with); but I got paper towels for free, so I was a happy couponer. ![]() |

I buy if needed at .50 or less a large roll. I stock up at .33 or less a large roll. I like the "back door method," I just don't shop as much at CVS as I used to do. I now have had enough to have lasted me six months or more, but I need to start looking for deals.
I know some do better, but I just don't feel like investing as much time into scoring deals, lol. Call me lazy, I guess. ![]() ![]() WUC Moderator Co-Forum Leader for Dollar Stores and Forum Leader for Price Chopper - Midwest/Kansas City

I stock up on paper towels when I can get it for under 50 cents a roll. I have around 50 rolls of paper towels on stock right now. But, I will always stock up if I can get a good deal.
