Default I finally moved my stockpile into my new house.

Sorry so long...This is an update of a previous thread I had that we had bought a house and were moving.
What had happened was the first house we put an offer on had a lot of problems with it. The sellers were unwilling to make repairs so we backed out of the offer. We finally found another house we liked about two or three weeks later. We moved in over this past weekend.
I did in fact label all my boxes with EVERYTHING we put in them along with the amount of the different items in them(ex 10 toothpaste, 15 toothbrushes, etc). I also labeled my stockpile boxes on all sides "STPL" to go into my new stockpile room. Now, I do have a pretty large stockpile. So far I have not found anything missing or anything like that and it went pretty smooth especially since I labeled all the boxes into what room I wanted them in and most things ended up in that exact room.
What I would have done differently is HIRE PEOPLE TO HELP.Uhaul had an offer page where you can hire workers from moving companies for so many hours to help you move. We had sooooooooooo much stuff to move. It was just me, DH, and about 3 friends. We rented a uhaul that was 20 feet long. DH thought we could make it in one trip, I knew differently. I would have gotten a bigger uhaul but he was uncomfortable driving anything bigger than that. We also made two trips out with two small cars full before loading the uhaul. I would have done more but I had to work the whole week so if we had done more trips boxes would have taken up less space in the uhaul. We stacked the boxes so we could use dollys on them so that wasnt that bad. We unloaded the truck in about an hour and a half(took 3 of us about 3 hours to load). I packed that thing like it was a tetris game. On our second trip we didnt do so well. Two people left so it was just 3 of us and we were getting tired. I had been up all night(I work night shift) and we didnt fill up the truck as well.
We are now mostly unpacked. I just have about 15 boxes left in my stockpile room I am taking my time on. I was also VERY sore the next day so we barely got any unpacking done that day. My hands were useless and DH hurt his ankle while moving and he is still limping! If we ever move again I am going to hire all the help I can afford!!

Night Shift Wuckie.

Moving is always a pain. I'm happy to hear that you found another home and completed your move and that you're almost finished unpacking. Sounds like you guys had a good move. I'm sure you'll be tweaking your stockpile until you get it right and you're happy with its organization.

If your hubby was uncomfortable driving a bigger Uhaul truck and would rather make two trips instead of one, that's okay. The main thing is he drove safely and completed the move without wrecking the truck. I hope his ankle heals quickly.

I'm soooo happy for you that the move is over and you seem to be at the tail end of getting everything organized in your new home. It can be so draining!!

When we moved (7) years ago and before the drug chain rewards wars, moving my stockpile was not an issue. If I had to move today, it sure would be. I think I'll stay put for a while.

Can't wait to see pics of your new stockpile room after you get it all organized!!

Well congrats on getting moved in. We moved about 3 years ago and have vowed that this is our forever house. We still have boxes in the garage which we hope to sort through and donate this summer.

It took me almost a month to move from the apartment next door to the house we are in now (literally right next door!). My hubby is a truck driver so I had to move what I could by myself. I did manage to have one friend bring a couple of young men over one day to move some larger stuff, but the rest all fell on me. And I didn't even coupon or have a stockpile then!

9 years ago we went from 1100 sq feet to over 3300. The plan is to get my daughter through high school she is the last one and sell this big place and move closer to my husbands work. I will NEVER NEVER move myself again. I applaud you for doing it. Not to mention I have thousands of yards of fabric plus my stockpile. I will save my money and hire someone.

How fast did they get things moved in? And how much stuff do you have hah. I really wish we would have. This is only a starter home. I imagine we will eventually buy another house in a few years. Totally not moving myself again!!
