I have been looking for storage shelfs so that I can build myself a little area in my basement. I don't know if it's great or even in your budget but I did find a nice little gadget online. If you go on the Costco website and search up their storage they actually carry a shelving system with rotation storage (harvest food rotation system) for the grand total of 299.99. Kinda wishing I could stack some major coupons to buy that puppy. I know you are probably looking for a more budget friendly solution. Just wanted people who didn't know that you can buy those racks without spending thousands. Please let me know if you make one and how it works.

the purchased ones are expensive to buy in the needed quantity for a varitey of foods. the home made ones are cool, though i actually don't have that many boxes floating around.

I have plastics shelving from Lowes, I use the cardboard that the grocery stores get their can goods in (of course theirs are all wrapped nice in plastic and mine are not). if you ask they'll save some for you.

for foods that i have cases of I just stack the cases on the shelf. other foods i may still stack the cases but i end up with a leaning tower as i grab too much from the bottom item. lol

but i frequently have lines of food items in teh cases for instance 3 rows of cans fit in the case. each row has the same food, the case below may also have the same so row one pears, row 2 peaches, row 3 pineapple. and the case below may be identical or may not depending on quantitys in storeroom. rotating is challenging so sometimes I'll have shelf of new stuff waiting to get merged into the old when the old pile gets lower and easer to rotate. can you tell that i seem to reorganize things in the pantry monthly as i get more of things or eat out other supplies. my husband can never find anything, he'll tell me we don't have it, and i'll go down get the item and say "we have 5 more down there" lol

I cleared a few shelves out of our bathroom closet to store things since we have 2 bathrooms we don't need a full closet for everything.

i've seen a lot of extreme coupon shows where they do use those. They look as if they would be great for saving space, but I would actually check in with some of your local grocery stores because they might just through their old ones out!
