[QUOTE=neenee05;4140680] Cocoa it sounds like you are doing some major shopping. I am limiting my purchases until I get things more settled. I have decided to give my husband some wedding pictures for Valentine's Day. I will either take him out to eat or cook something special for him too.

>>Valentine's Day We will save gift card from Christmas given to use one for valentine's the day before !!! I have a system that I work with, I'm a lady that love to give to other,I'm blessed to have alot...For my birthday and Anniversary that are 3 months apart along with Christmas..

Since I been with dh I require gift cards all my family and friend know this about us..So I save and use them after each holiday..I love giving nice gift but not paying full price, Some gift cards I use after Christmas to purchase birthday gifts for Jan-March....

It work well for us !!!

I am in for January. Our big financial goal is to buy a home. The first for either my DH or I. We have a little debt to pay down, and credit repair to do.

Dh and I go back to work tomorrow after 11 days off.

Lol.....that pickle episode is soooo hilarious!

Cocoa, my dh has to go back today. Bummer. He's worked most days the last 2wks, but it's been without students....without the normal grind....and has been mostly half days! It's been nice! He's more relaxed!

Morning. The sun is out. What?! We had bad storms last night, with some tornadic activity. One hit a town about 45-50 min south from us, where several friends live.....and there were 4 fatalities. So sad. I think some tornados occurred across the state line, in GA, too. But now we have sunshine....like none of that all happened. Gonna be a steamy, humid day, methinks, as the sun dries up some of the wetness.

It.s not been steamy, nor humid! Though the sun did go and hide a bit w the clouds!

I spent a good bit of the am cleaning stuff for my booth....a german fest table, an antique folding bed, a blanket display, 2 shelves, and 2 nesting box shaped things....I'll display books in them....maybe. All needs to go into my booth. The bed and 1 shelf dried enough for me to coat them in mineral oil....and wow....soooo nice! The fest table received a SERIOUS cleaning, and so it was still sooooo wet. It should be ready after nap, though. The sun is out for realz this time, lol. The other shelf I need to paint. It's an ugly, orangey pine. Ick. Also the backing doesn't match, color-wise. But, once white, I will stack it on top of the table, and put pretty colored bowls inside....oooooh! Soooo pretty!!

If I can get the table done fairly quick this afternoon, I might just load things up, and take them to my booth this afternoon. Otherwise, I'll have to wait till thurs. I still am debating prices..... The bed is from 1890-1920....I.ve seen similar ones with those dates on them.....and online, their prices are $600+. But realistically....I won't get that. I'm thinking somewhere between $125-175. Idk if I can even get that.... But....I only paid $30 for it, so there's not alot of $ invested. I would rather it sell quickly than sit for a yr, too. Pricing is kinda hard.... But, the bed looks amazing w all the oil soaked into the wood!!

Kids started back to school today. I was gonna wait....but....they seemed ready for normal. And normal was a blessing!! The house was soooo quiet! And when I said, get outside and play, whooosh, they flew outside! Hehehe!

(The fest table had had chicken poo on it. So it got sprayed, scrubbed w dish soap + vinegar + water, rinsed, scrubbed more, rinsed, scrubbed w bleach water, left to set a bit, and rinsed again. Lol. The wood was thoroughly soaked! But....when I first found the table, 15yrs ago, it had been sitting in a barn....and was covered w bird poo then. Lol. I scrubbed it the same back then, and we used it constantly till we moved to this house....where there is no room for it. Sob!)

Does anyone know any good meal ideas for kids just learning to cook? I want to teach basic skills, but want a decent dinner as well. LOL I'm trying to find some information online, but I haven't found much yet. I'm not quite sure where to start, or what to have her help with. Thanks for any help!
