Cocoa, sounds like you had a good staycation! Vacations are fun, but can still be a lot of work and energy. So a staycation can be a lot more relaxing.

Cocoa, sounds like you had a lovely time!! Glad you two got a break from th normal to enjoy relaxing a bit!

Neenee, sounds like much is getting done w the business! Yah! And congrats on your anniversary!

Damian, hope you rested well yesterday!

Katie, yah on all the goodies found!

We had a busy Monday. Normally I prefer to stay home on Mondays, to clean up from the weekend and to get back into our schedule, but ds needed a haircut before we left and monday was the day that worked. Also, there was a used curriculum sale in the am. So my poor kids got rushed around all am when they were both so tired from sunday's activities. They needed to get their school and chores done, and clean in their bedrooms. Ds's room was a wreck, and he'd stopped cleaning it before bed the few nights prior. Nope. No way, no how. He worked on it yesterday am and pm, and I told him at bedtime that he needed to clean along all the edges of the room, too. Ugh.

At the booksale, I didn't get much in the way of curriculum, but I also didn't need much. But they had a free (or donation) book room off to the side....and the kids and I ended up with about 4 boxes worth of books! With taking that many, I did donate $40, so we prolly paid .50/book or less.

I knew I would be pooped by the evening, so when we grabbed groceries, I grabbed 2 pkgs of boudin (a cajun sausage) to cook for supper, and I cooked broc w cheese, made some ranch dip, and cut up a ton of carrots. Easy-peasy. Our little cost+ groc store has had gala apples, 3# for $1.21 the last week. I grabbed several bags last week, but was worried they were older apples, and mushy or flavorless.....but they aren't! So I grabbed 4more bags yesterday. Dh eats 2-3 apples a day, and the kids and I usually eat one every day or two, so keeping them on hand is necessary! And normally a 3# bag is $3-4!

I'm sooooooooooooo soooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooo happy we stayed home today! Yeehaw! I was so happy about the rainy weather, but then we had tornado sirens blaring....so it wasn't so nice anymore. Now....it's sunny and prolly CRAZY-HUMID! I'll stay indoors, thank you much!

Ds was supposed to go play w a friend, but the friend's mom has a migraine, and I didn't think she needed another kid stuck indoors this afternoon!

I did laundry today and some cleaning/picking up. And I drank a bunch of coffee....and putzed alot, too. And I enjoyed not running 55 errands. Did I mention YEEHAW yet? (Tomorrow and thurs will be more errands.....)

I think I am down to just 2 more loads of laundry to wash...well, today, lol. Dd has her bag packed for this weekend. And once all the clothes are dry, I can start gathering my outfits to pack (several items are drip-dry...my sink has a few shirts in it right now).

Dh wants to leave by 5am on fri, for our weekend at the beach w his parents. Eek! Mil and I worked out meals while we're there. We'll spend most of our time at their place, so we'll drop most of our groceries off with them. I did my best to plan stuff around items I already have on hand, though I did end up having to buy a few things I hadn't planned on yesterday.

Tonight I'm making chicken/cream cheese/spinach quesadillas, and will prolly cut up strawberries and whip some cream to go with. Mmmm. Kids LOVE to add choc syrup to the whipped cream!! Drool! (The chicken was pulled from pre-cooked chicken, and frozen....makes this meal super-easy! I pulled the bag of chicken and bag of spinach from the freezer earlier, and they should be thawed by dinnertime.)

Cocos I know you enjoyed relaxing and a break from cooking. Wow those were some great prices.

Jfred great score on the books. Enjoy your time at the beach. I hope the weather is good. Good deal on the apples. I also scored some great deals on some produce yesterday. I had to take my friend to Mobile so I stopped at a favorite little store on the way home. They had packs of spinach marked down for. 99 cents and mushrooms marked down for. 79. I got both things of spinach and three packs of mushrooms. They also had onions for forty cents a pound and leg quarters for. 43 a pound. I got about 10 pounds of onions and a bag of leg quarters. Our freezer is packed but I am going to pull a huge Boston butt and put it in the fridge to thaw for Sunday.
