Another busy day for me. My son and I took my oldest grandson to the doctor today. We thought he might have strep but his swab was negative. Then we went to the discount grocery. We found several good bargains. I went to two other grocery stores and picked up a few ítems. I also found some fruit cups at the closeout store. I cooked a pork roast in the crockpot and there was enough left for lunch and dinner tomorrow.

Yes I read it aloud to my kiddos while they play with blocks or Paint and dd1 can really recall it as we read it sporadically bx of timing etc..it brings up alot of discussions etc..i also found little house picture books so I'm hoping girls will fall in love

Journaling is good! But then I have to write so I can figure out things, lol. I've read Ann Voskamp's 1000 Gifts a few times, and so most morning I sit down and write thanks to God for all the big and small things He has shown me since yesterday. I enjoy it!

Hope everyone gets to feeling better, Katie!

Neenee....I can't see you sitting still long enough to read!! You need audio books!! My dh downloads books for our son to listen to....and he is constantly listening while he plays legos, feeds animals, does chores, eats bfast, etc. Lol. One yr I was in the car constantly, so I checked out a ton of audio books to listen to in the car.

Dh works tonight + we had the 2 girlies here for lunch. I pulled some boneless/skinless chic breasts from the freezer to thaw this am, and I made chicken fajitas for lunch. I have a huuuuuge lodge cast iron pan that sits on 2 burners on my stove, and I filled it with 3 LARGE green peppers, and 4 or 5 sliced onions. Then sliced and cooked 4 chicken breasts. Before I served ANYONE, I set aside half of the fajitas for another meal. (Hopefully for an rv trip next week!) I wasn't going to let all the hungry monsters think they could eat it all today! Cause the kids and dh will! Everyone had ONE tortilla generously filled with yumminess....then they could eat fruit, if still hungry. Dh doesn't eat much bread....so he just filled his plate w the meat + veggies. We had enough for his dinner tonight, and one other serving, after everyone ate. It was delicious!

I don't normally buy boneless/skinless breasts....but the price was so good...I was actually getting more meat for my $ than if I had bought bone-in chicken! And oh, the preparation was sooooo much easier! Lol!

Started a new med and it's not sitting well with my stomach. I'm going to see the dietitation tomorrow so I'm holding off on changing the dose.

Sat outside with the little ones across the hall. It felt so nice sitting the sun.

You are right Jfred. I am very hyper and reading gets boring quite fast for me. I really liked to read when I was young though.

Katie I hope your family gets well.

Laura I hope you feel better too. I have never been to St Pete. The closest I have been is when we were in Tampa in the spring. I have been through Ocala a couple of times on the way to Orlando and we stayed there overnight on our spring trip. I really like that area of Florida.

Ugh, I'm so hot and sweaty. I was in court all day long - as in I didn't get out until around 6 tonight. I was rather frustrated by my day so I decided to do some cleaning tonight. I always like to clean the house really good before I go on vacation. I've still got some time so I'm working on the lesser used rooms. Yesterday was the sunroom and tonight I did Taylor's. We are still planning on working on the baseboards and door frames in the hallway and then the learning room tonight. Yuck!

But at least the clean rooms make me feel better and productive. I've also loaded the dishwasher and started it. I also put a load of laundry in the washer - I think it's ready for the dryer now but I've still got about 10 minutes on my break.

I've been sticking to my work for x minutes in an hour and that has made a lot of difference in my motivation. I also set the timer during the work week for a quick pick up a couple times a week.

My child has already had two tests this week and she has one more tomorrow. She's only in third grade and now we have an Economics project to work on. I had plans this weekend to do some stuff in the house but my little podunk town does not have any craft stores and we need some materials for her posterboard so we'll have to do that this weekend. This project is due before we go on vacation but I've told her that the responsible thing to do is to finish it early and turn it in before we go.

See, vacation is teaching us something. Responsibility! And, how to manage our time wisely!
