I know Toys R Us has a new rewards program (well maybe it isn't new, but I haven't shopped there in a long time). If you shop there, what kinds of things do you find the best deals on and what are the tricks of the trade?
I can remember getting $5 off $25 Birthday reward coupons + they send the kids $3 on any purchase for their birthdays. What other great things are happening there? |

Personally, I only shop their Chrstmas deals - the buy this get that free. They weren't as good this year as they were last year, so I really only spent $10 this holiday season. During the holiday season they offer more R Us bucks (certain percentage earned per $ spent), so I've used those and raided the clearance clothing in Jan/Feb. They recently offered a $20 Groupon for $10 (exp 12/24). I used that to get a Leapad game for $10.
I'll use the Babies R Us 20% off Q to get somewhat of a deal on Boogie Wipes (expensive but so effective!). You can use an MQ with it - or at least you could. Haven't done it in awhile! Otherwise, it's just wait and see if they have anything good. Unfortunately, since there is only one TRU in my area, when there are super hot deals, they get wiped out rather quickly. Keep an eye out on their clearance. That's about the best you can do there, IMO, since their prices are quite a bit higher tan Target or Walmart. Really, it's matching a sale/promo with a Q, just like everywhere else. I think you're more likely to find a deal at Babies R Us rather than Toys R Us. ![]() Co-Forum Leader for Dollar Stores and Forum Leader for Price Chopper - Midwest/Kansas City

I hope someone has the answer. One of my son got a $25 gift card and we went so he could spend it as it was burning a hole in his pocket and he couldn't find anything cheap enough to buy that he would want so we walked out with nothing. He is 9 so you would have thought would could have found something. We walked that store from one end to another twice and found nothing. Sad.

Yes my 8 year old has 2 gift cards to use there. I haven't shopped there much since my 3 kids were much younger. Partially because we don't have one real close to us.

MY son wanted the Nerf gun but they were $49 as he had the other lower cost ones. Even a DS game that he would have wanted was a lot more than he had. We don't shop their either so prices seemed crazy high to me. My other son was able to get the same Nerf gun with his Walmart gift card and put a little toward it for $32 so why so much more at a toy store than at a store that doesn't carry as much toys doesn't make sense.

I used to work there and yes the prices are high on some things. If you have a gift card it's best just to wait until there is a sale or coupon. When I go there I always stop at customer service first to see if they have any coupons out, they will usually give them to you. Also remember Toys R us will price match if you find it cheaper in another stores ad. Not many people take advantage of their price match. I'm signed up to receive their emails and they email me coupons every now and then. Good luck finding somethng though.
