We are heading to San Antonio in a few weeks and want to go to Sea World (The only day they are open when we will be there will be a Friday.), the Natural Bridge caverns, the Alamo, or anything @ the River Walk. Does anyone have information on discounts or coupons for any of these? There will be 4 of us.
Thanks so much! Co-Forum Leader for Food Lion & Lowes Foods

There are usually printable coupons for Sea World. We live 3 hrs away so they put them in those Save magazines. You can also go to the save website and put in a local zip and if they have advertised in SAVE you should be able to find a printable (might wanna wait until closer to the park opening if there are none available now). The Alamo is free I think, as is the RiverWalk if you don't buy anything
![]() We did the Alamo on a Saturday and it just happened to be one of the Saturdays where they were doing reenactments of life in the 1800s. It is very pretty...hubby loved the historical stuff. I am one of those BTDT in 5 minutes kind of people. Sea World is really fun. I wish I had known there are really 2 parts of the park: the water park and then the animal part. You need to wear clothes that will dry quickly no matter which side you use...including shoes. If you want to do the tubing and waterslide type stuff you might wanna carry bathing suits, towel, sunscreen...like a day at a beach. They have food in the parks which is very reasonably priced for a theme park. We had brought a cooler b/c someone told me you could, but they are not allowed. We did get away with carrying a water bottle each, I think...then again we were with veyr small children so I think you can get away with more if you have a diaper bag or a stroller. They do check your bags for contraband. You can buy a fun pass for the price of a full admission and then you can come back all season long for free. There is closer parking which can be purchased...I think it's like "Shamu's Choice" or something like that. I think it's $10 or $20 per car. You need to carry cash so you can feed the dolphins at Dolphin Cove or whatever it's called. That was really one of the highlights of our experience. The shows were great...the dolphin show is even better than the orca show. Food: Trip Advisor rates "Chris Madrid Nachos and Burgers" as the best place...at least when we went. I went and I was not impressed. it was greasy food in a run down house with plastic lawn chairs and stuff that looked like it was stolen from a park as the outdoor dining area. My husband liked it...he got a bumper sticker for eating the macho burger. It was not living up to the hype for me. The best Tex Mex for me is Chuy's. You gotta go...and you gotta ask for the creamy jalapeno to go with your nachos. Every single time my family comes to visit we have to go to Chuy's...my family never insists on anything, but THIS. There are places on the riverwalk to eat as well. IMO Chuy's is worth the drive. We did it on our Sea World Day at the end of the day. You really have to do the boat on the riverwalk. It's fun and there is a lot of history you will learn about the entire area, not just the riverwalk. I think there is a saltgrass steakhouse on the riverwalk. We did not go there b/c we live in TX and have one right down from our house, but it is really good "texas food", steaks, baked potatoes, grilled chicken, ya know...basics. It is a chain here that was recently bought by landrys. Our boat ticket had a discounts for some of the riverwalk restaurants on it. Have fun...it was a really good experience for us! PS if you like water then it would not be crazy to spend 2 days at sea world using the fun pass. it took us a whole day to get through the animal/rides part and we did not even go into lost lagoon, the water play area.

Acroos from the Alamo is Ripley's believe it or not and a wax museum, I am going to see if I can find any good discount things for you. How long are you going to be in San Antonio?

Oh, all the fun stuff on here, makes me remember our year that we lived in San Antonio, back when hubby was a manager for Circuit City! We lived there from July 1997 - mid June 1998, and our house was just 3 miles from Sea World. The River Walk was somewhere we went ALL the time, and we had a Sea World pass. Another favorite there was the San Antionio Zoo - VERY nice, though I will say it has nothing on the Cincinnati Zoo. =) Salt Grass and Chuy's - YUMMO! Makes me miss my TEXAS steakhouses and Tex-Mex eateries, as we have neither one of those awesome establishments up here. Ahhh, the memories. . . . Have fun on your trip!!!

If you are going to Natural Bridge Caverns you will be near the city of New Braunsfels. It is a big deal during the summer when it is about 105 out, but it won't be that crowded during spring break. There are 2 cold spring fed rivers there that locals like to take big tire intertubes and float down all day long with a cooler. Like I said it will probably be too cold in March. But it is a neat city. There is a town inside of New Braunsfels called Gruene (pronounced Green) that has Gruene Hall, the oldest Dance Hall in Texas. They have great concerts there. Next door to Gruene Hall is a restraunt called the Grist Mill, all outdoor seating and very good food. Home-style Texas cooking. We go to tubing every year and these are 2 places that are musts. You will also see a local chain called Rudy's Barbecue all over central Texas, it is GREAT food.
Fiesta Texas is also in SA, they are the local Six Flags Amusement Park. I don't know if they will be open that time of year, but it is a lot of fun, they have great rides. I didn't buy one this year, so I can't confirm, but usually the Entertainment Books have coupons to SeaWorld and Fiesta Texas. Here is the link to the SA one (half off, plus I think you can buy it through MyPoints and get credit that way, too: Entertainment Book - SA Like I said I haven't bought it yet, and I can't confirm there are coupons for those attractions there, but you might cold contact them and ask. We love San Antonio! We go every year. I would suggest retailmenot.com. You can do a search for seaworld.com and there are usually coupon codes that pop up you can use to purchase tickets for Sea world that are heavily discounted. And not sure if you are interested in the "time share" thing, but...... if you google San Antonio cheap vacation or discounts, then there are usually time share packages that you can book. You only have to listen to a 30 min - 1 hr presentation and they come with LOTS of freebies. My husband and I did this 2 years ago, received cheap hotel, free tickets and a free river boat ride. You just need to know how to say "no" :-)
