Does Jupiter Jack Really Work?

I bought this the Saturday after Black Friday so I didn't get the RR for it. I still haven't opened it so I will be taking it back and doing a return/rebuy and getting my $10 back

I bought one Sat... one of the Wags I was at already had them marked down. I so far have mixed reviews.
I tried it first to listen to voice mail (didn't have anyone to call) and had a hard time getting a good reception on channel 99.3 so I switched to the other channel which would not work. Back on 99.3 I was able to listen to my voicemail but it was VERY hard to hear clearly.
Later talking with my friend I plugged it back in and heard her very clearly, she heard me fine too... she said I sounded a little hollow but pretty good (good enough she wanted me to buy her one). As I was talking with her I started to get bad reception as I entered the city... to the point I had to turn it off. I don't know if this was a fluke but it's annoying. Also the part plugs into your phone and freely spins around, when it moves it gives you a staticy reception so it needs to be placed down somewhere or held so the jack doesn't move.
I'm still on the fence about how I feel, I can't have it not work in the city so I'll try again tomorrow.

Yep, I'm worried there is too much interference to use this in urban areas. Maybe it works in rural areas, where you may not have phone service? lol
Tried it on 2 phones in 1 vehicle. DH's iPhone and my cheapie Nokia. Really nothing but static. Will test it in the other vehicle. If it is usable, will repost. Right now, this is looking like a dud.

It seems every time I enter the city it gets very noisy, sometimes it just scratchy... but it's not only on my end, my friend was getting annoyed with the static on her end too. The majority of the time I'm on the highway and it worked fine. I have mixed emotions about this....
