Default Question about coupons and rewards card.

I noticed tonight that my total was $20.xx before my wags card was scanned. Can you give coupons first to avoid after to use a filler then have them scan the card? Such as if you have an item that is $8, but on sale for $5.99 and your wanting to use a $6 RR to pay for it. That dreaded .01 difference is killer!!!

I have never tried that but I have seen their system adjust/take off valid coupons when other coupons are scanned for unknown reasons.

And for some reason, the amount their system takes off for free coupons (i.e. Good&Natural) solely depends on how the cashier puts in the quantity.

Their system seems to have a mind of its own, and does what it wants when it wants!

I don't think the issue is whether the register will allow it. I think the question should be: even if the computer allows it (and I don't know the answer) is this something I should do? And, I think we all know the answer to that one.

If you really don't want to use a filler, why not just have the adjust the RR to $5.99?

I've never seen a rr adjusted. At cvs, they will, but not at my wags.

I've been trying to read on the Wags 101 section if this has been ever addressed before. In my personal experience, I've never run across an employee that will adjust down a RR. Just recently, I did a transaction for my mom and assumed that her basket was just a little over the RR I was using. It wasn't and the RR beeped when I used it. My cashier was about to hand me back the RR. Thats not to say a RR cant be adjusted down. A pp said theirs will do it for a penny. But I think for the most part, they won't do it. Sometimes I have problems with some cashiers not wanting to or knowing how to adjust MQ's.

I also wanted to point out, that most of the cashiers I've had, knows enough about their coupon policy to know that MQ's and RR's must equal to number of items. They actually count my bagged items to make sure my ratio is correct.

To add to what Taylorsmom said, I do agree. We know Wag's coupon policy, though it does not specifically say they can or cannot adjust RR's. If the register or employee does not catch something or does not know their policy, does that make it right for us to do?

I know most of us strives to keep our OOP zero to extremely low. But, there are some things I feel we just need to grin and bear it and one of those for me is the dreaded fillers at Wags.

In my experience, I have noticed consistently that when I scan my card last after items have been scanned and WAGc and MQs have been taken, the amount ALWAYS adjusts prices with card (as advertised). Even if initially, subtotal comes up high, once card is scanned, it adjusts the prices and may also kick out coupons if subtotal comes out negative. Therefore, I'm always ready for fillers even if I don't like them.

My stores also DO NOT adjust RRs because they are NOT item specific but may apply to all items in a transaction, unlike other MQs that can be used only for items specified on their terms. That is why they adjust regular MQs but not RRs. Makes sense to me.

As GH has said, the register will adjust the prices once you hand them your card so it will still not accept a RR for over the amount of the total due. From what I've always been told, although they are not supposed to adjust RRs, *some* rare stores will do it but this is unusual since most stores will not adjust RRs.
