I haven't couponed at WM for a long time nor Kmart due to the issues involving the cashiers here at my local stores. It seems that none of the cashiers know the policies and procedures when it comes to coupons. I have made lists and prepared my coupons only to have them mess up my deals and the managers are just an unimformed as the checkers...I really want to take advantage of some of the deals listed but I hate standing there for a long time only to be shot down in the end and spending more money or wasting my time on stuff I wouldn't normally buy but wanted to so I could stockpile at a cheap price....does anyone else run into this? I hate not going but I don't know what else to do to handle the issue...the customer isn't right as far as my WM and Kmart is concerned...

I broke up with WalMart about a month ago, and really haven't missed it. The only reason I go into WM is to pick up my mom's meds. Not shopping there has made me notice how much extra money I was spending chasing deals that didn't work out at that store. I am finding better deals at my local food stores and at smaller area stores. A lot less drama now at the check out.

I think like any other store it's hit or miss. There's people who don't know rules and make up q rules all over. I went to Walmart Thursday and used 5 PDF qs and the lady said there was a limit of one! Haha so I said okay ill do 5 transactions! She didn't say anything and I got my stuff -- oh well! I hate to be like this but due to bad experiences I profile cashiers. I prefer men to women and not old people!! That's just me!! But I don't think I could break it off!

To be a couponer a person has to have a tough hide. Nothing stops me from getting my deals.
( I recently had a stroke and broken arm - still went couponing soon as I could walk). I am retired and have more time than money - trying my best to stay educated on store policy and I carry copies of store policies with me at all times should a situation arise. My experience - I find in every store, not just WM, there are some retail employees that: do not know coupon policy, not trained adequately. Try politely using the chain of command, ask for supervisor, then the manager in charge, then store manager, etc. Believe me if the store manager is doing their job, the situation will be fixed, pronto. I find trying to resolve/get my issue corrected right then and there makes my shopping experience for the better. Yes at times it can be so frustrating, but with handling a complaint with tact & grace the situation can be improved. Go out there and get your deals... don't let a few untrained retail employees stop you. Hang in there, because for every bad apple, there are dozens of good folks there to help! ![]() Lucky 2 B A Wuckie! |

Sometimes there is just nothing that you can do.
A couple of weeks ago I was at an out-of-town CVS, so not my regular store. They would not allow me to use (2) $10/1 Proglide when you buy any disposables and a BOGO coupon on the disposables. I had the CVS coupon policy with me and it made absolutely no difference to the cashier or the manager on duty. I voided the transaction and 20% off coupon printed at the bottom of my receipt. I put pharmacy in my GPS and found another CVS 3 miles away. Not only did they allow me to use the BOGO for the disposables, but they auto deducted the max of $11.99 AND I I used the 20% off coupon I had just gotten so it was a MUCH better deal. Two CVSes, three miles apart, overseen by the same DM, with completely different ways of handling coupons. Personally, I think this is what can make couponing a little frustrating because you never really know what to expect, even when you think you do. |

Today I had a major problem with a cashier. I'm wondering if anyone has ever handed this girl a coupon! Lol. First she tried to say I could not use my 1.00/1 reach floss because the floss was only .97. Then she didn't want to take any of my IP's because she said they had the same numbers...wrong! Finally the manager came over and showed her where the numbers were different and told her all my q's were fine. I don't shop their often and usually end up irritated when I leave.

I don't really coupon at WalMart that often. Occasionally, there will be a great matchup for me, but rarely. When I have used coupons there, I don't recall ever having a problem.

Stop couponing at any store due to cashier? NO, but I take note of who they are and when I come back to the store I make sure not to go to their line no matter what. I can sense if one is just having a bad hair day and I let that slide but when one changes demeanor once they see coupons held by customer, I stay away from them knowing I can't fix that attitude.

I quit shopping Walmart a couple of years ago, not just for the hassle they give you over Qs and untrained/poor attitude cashiers, but for the overall unpleasant shopping experience. I'm much happier shopping other stores. I haven't missed Walmart one iota AND I get better deals shopping other places anyway.

I can't say that I hate my WM. I just get a very uncomfortable feeling there when it comes to coupons. I very rarely coupon there anymore. It's 30 minutes away anyhow and my grocery store is only 8 minutes away. And they're much nicer about everything. It's hard to find a decent employee at WM here. I have met some very nice cashiers but they're not always there when I go. I also get better deals at other stores anyway.
I can't believe I used to pay full price!!
