BOGO Q's and using a dollar off in conjunction. The following scenerio goes like this: You have a BOGO coupon and you buy the two items for the Q, then you use a $1 off Q on the full price item.
Do you believe its against the policy because it says you can not use 2 Q's on one item OR do you believe its ok because the BOGO refers to the free one and you can still apply the $1 off the one you paid full price for. I also would like to know if you all have ever been denied being able to do this if you have tried to? Or have you always been allowed to no questions asked? I am a cashier at walmart and today while at MY OWN store one of my fellow co-workers actually tried to deny my usage of the Q's in this manner. Although I have told her that I have worked there multiple years now and have always allowed Q's to be used in this manner. While yes our registers do try to deny the $1 Q usage, we can simply override it. Alot of times the registers say its not the right product and it actually is, you can not always rely on the computers. I am at this point really miffed about it, most of CSM's right now are very green. One said yes, another said no and b/c of that damn show AND a complete and utter COUPON CODER that comes in and rips off the store (sorry to say but she's actually a member here and I hope she reads this) our workers are getting reamed for accepting alot of coupons. Alot of them are on edge b/c of it. She also tried to deny my usage on my $1 off tide Q's I told her to take them off the bill when the other green CSM there told her he just got in trouble for accepting those coupons. I said no if there is no size restriction then you can use them this way. Incidentally when talking w/1 of the csm's on he told me that he just talked it over w/the asm and was told we could use them that way. DUH. Ugh anyway I AM A CASHIER at that very store and infact JUST had my review where the assistant mgr told me that " I have nothing bad to say about your performance, you are one of our very strong cashiers" . The fact that I coupon also, goes far in knowing how to handle the customers coupons. I am beyond po'd about this and will be taking it up w/our ASM AND I plan on calling corporate about it. However if anyone on this board thinks that I am wrong, I would love to know your opinion. OR if anyone has ever called corporate about it and they were told that please speak. Thanks so much. |

I will let one of the seasoned couponers answer you.
I just wanted to say that I am sorry they denied your Qs! I would think that they would not do that especially since you are a cashier their so you obviously know what you are doing! |

First, I would out the person who is using the coupons illegally to the store management and the other cashiers. That goes for anyone guilty of coupon fraud. It makes it harder for the rest of us.
I have only tried to use a bogo and a cents off once at Weis and was turned down by a nighttime cashier. I have not tried it since and will be looking forward to the replies here. |

Yea no kidding thats what I was thinking. She's one of the seasonal college kids that has the "I'm going to school to be a dentist and therefore all of you are beneath me" type attitude. I was allowed to use them but wasn't happy about the hassle I was getting over them. I also just told her to take the $1 off tide off b/c although I knew I could use them (and get the overage) that I wasn't gonna argue w/them there. I went to the service desk afterwards and talked to the other csm who then told me if I wanted to check out there and use the Q's he would gladly let me use them. Told him, nm I'd use them last time but to please let the other csm and the cashier know this. I mean READ the coupons ugh. |

I can certainly share in your frustration at the bizarre application of Walmarts coupon policy. After a couple of weeks of smooth sailing, my local WM has my hair turning white and my blood presure is going through the roof.
We have a slew of new cashiers and CSM who do not even now there is a Walmart coupon policy. We are back to the days of "it has to match the picture", "cannot use a coupon after a PM", "CANNOT USE ON TRAIL/TRAVELSIZE" " we allowed that coupon and were not reimbursed for it" (really Walmart the largest client for any corp denied???), " we cannot accept the coupon because it is for more than the product is worth","you cannot use a second coupon on a BOGO". Please, Please do call corporate and get them to understand how frustrating and a turn off it is to go shopping there and having such an experience. |

You buy "Item A" using a cents off Q, then use the BOGO Q on "Item B". The BOGO Q states that if you buy "Item A" (which you have) you get "Item B" for free. I've personally never been denied doing this. |

WoW ok so I can definately see the frustration on both parties here and this totally explains why there are so many discrepencies concerning why you can and can't at different stores.
I just got off the phone with corporate and they told me that they put down GUIDELINES, which is exactly what we are able to print off from thier website. She said there is a gray area and they get tons of calls concering it. She said corporate allows management of each store to use thier own discretion as to what they will and won't allow. UGH I know they have ALOT of stores but seriously, if corporate made a decision one way or the other then it would sure solve alot of hassles and issues. So Saturday when I go back to work I will be taking it up w/our frontend assistant mgr and find out where our store stands on this. |

My experience is every Walmart store is different. I think the cashiers are not educated enough and they have CSM that don't understand the policy. It is very frustating to go to Walmart and they make you look like dummies. For me its not worth arguing with people who can't read and understand simple verbage with coupons....

My walmart used to allow it and be super cool with coupons..They had a meeting two weeks ago that apparently confused the frick out of the cashiers, and me and my mom have had nothing but problems since then...not using more than 2 multiple coupons for 2 items. And the BOGO, they told my mom she couldn't do it and when my mom tried to tell her she did it just a couple of days ago, the cashier told her about the meeting...

I WISH our store WOULD have a meeting, at least we all would be on the same page. I literally told the csm's that there was a new coupon policy in effect 2 whole months before I saw it written on the meeting board in the back. Incidentally most cashiers never see a store meeting b/c we can't be spared off the front end. Um hello if you are talking about a new coupon policy don't you think you should have the cashiers in there to hear it?? Its freakin crazy how these stores are run....
