Sometimes I think it has more to do with your printer than the coupon itself. I have had cases where I used multiples of an IP coupon and some scan and some don't. I chock it up to printer variations, the amount of ink used in that pass, ink bleeding, alignment. There are so many variables. I guess I am lucky as I have never had a cashier refuse a coupon because it wouldn't scan, they always type it in or just manually enter the value as an MQ.

Yesterday the cashier was using the handheld scanner. She wrote down the price $1.47 on the coupon but the scanner still wouldn't allow it to go through.
I decided to try it again this afternoon with a differen cashier. It beeped like someone said probably to remind them about the price, but she tried to scan it and she manually put it thru the system. THEN, the same thing happened with the Countrycrock butter coupon for pumpkin spice or honey flavors. I had the $1.25 coupon printed for qty. of 2 and it would not scan at all. I had one of each flavor. She manually put it thru for me. Whew! I was thankful to have a cooperate cashier this time. |

One other thing - after all that frustration I emptied out the bag into a plastic container (or my cat will chew thru the bag and eat them) and there wasn't that many treats inside of it. I've seen other brands with the same size bag have more treats inside of it.

My Walmart will manually enter a coupon from an insert, but if any other coupon doesn't scan its a no go. This started last year (2011), because of the number of fake and copied coupons being passed. Yes, its still a legit coupon, just not considered a valid coupon because it didn't scan, and you might be able to use it elsewhere, but most of grocery stores have adopted the same no scan no go policy.
