Default New To Forums? Need Some Pointers?

Forums are a new experience for many members and all those little icons above the reply box can be confusing.

Below you'll find a tutorial on some of the more commonly used ways to format your posts.

Above the standard Reply Box you'll see a series of icons. This post will deal primarily with the most commonly used icons contained within.

If you want to turn text BOLD you'll highlight it with your mouse and then click on the B, highlighted in red below.

Alternatively, you can simply type using the code tags and BOLD sections as you go. Always remove the spaces that I'm leaving in for instructional purposes.

If you want to turn text ITALICIZED you'll highlight it with your mouse and then click on the I, highlighted in red below.

If you want to insert an image from a url you'll copy the url, click on the image icon highlighted in red below and paste the url into the appropriate slot.

Another option is to simply type [ img]then the url to the image[ /url]

Posting a url is easy, the forums will automatically add the [ url] [ /url] tags around complete urls you post, making them clickable links.

If, for some reason, you don't want them to be clickable, remove the http and/or www part and it will appear as plain text like so: weusecoupons.com vs WeUseCoupons.com

Maybe you want to say something like "Buy My Fudge" and have it link to your FSOT thread or personal website? You'd use [ url=www.yoursitehere.com]Visit My Site![ /url]

Example: A Cool Online RPG!

Or you want to insert a smilie in your post, just put the cursor where you want the smilie to appear and click on the smilie icon, it will insert the code {again, ignore the spaces I'm using for instructional purposes} so that this: : couponlove: looks like this:

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions not covered above, or if something isn't clear.
