Help I need some help with a substitute

I need to substitute something for powdered sugar (cornstarch is in powdered sugar) but there is a BIG problem. There can not be any gluten, corn, nut, sesame, egg, milk/dairy or shellfish of ANY kind do to severe allergies.

This will be used in a cake and frosting.

Any ideas would be wonderful.

You can actually just put sugar in the blender and process it until it is very fine.

I think it takes more granulated sugar to make the same amount of powdered but I'm not completely sure.

I just read online it's 1:1, you can google how to make powdered sugar for recipes but it's pretty much putting sugar in a blender or food processor.

FYI: the spinning sugar can scratch plastic to says so if your blender is glass that is great.

If you have a spice grinder you should use that. They do make corn free powdered sugar if you can find it. They use tapioca instead of cornstarch.
