squirells~had them fried, deep fried, when I was a little girl. They were OK, I guess.

frog legs~had these deep fried as well and they were super duper yummy! Tasted like chicken!

alligator~I have eaten this a few different ways, my favorite was the hunks of "white" meat, battered and deep fried.(see a pattern here? I suppose ANYTHING deep fried is pretty good!)

escargo(snails)~I just recently tried these for the first time and was a little let down. I was expecting something spectacular maybe...but they tasted like chewy mushrooms! Not terrible, but not impressive either!

I would love to hear about everyones exotic foods they have tried!

While in Spain in college, I went to a restaurante taurino - a restaurant where bulls that are killed in bullfights are sent. Anyway, there was this black stuff that all the
madrilenos were dipping their bread into. They wouldn't tell any of us college kids what it was until we all tried it. So I ate some and found out that it was blood pudding made with bull's blood. It was not good.

Reading your post reminded me of one of my DH favorite foods, kishka, which is Polish blood sausage. I never could bring myself to try it.

Oh, dear....!! Frog legs, Turtle soup, BBQ goat, Coon, Possum, Conch fritters, Bear and Chittlins! Now, I tried these only once and a couple of them were on a "Triple Dog Dare" and like Max, beer was usually involved!!


Also, as every good Georgia Dawg fan has done, I've eaten a little gator!! Just not this year!!

I'm a country girl so what's normal for me is weird or strange for others.


Frog legs, deer, squirrel, growse, and whatever else Daddy killed and brought home. BIL gave us bear meat. Don't care for much for it as it was too tough.

Yeah, I left off the Bambi, Thumper and squirrel cause that is normal! The bear I had was fixed by someone else and it wasn't tough at all! I thought I was eating beef until they told me!

Apparently my BIL or sis didn't fix it right then because it was tough.

BIL sent me to the garage to get the package of meat out of the freezer. I opened the freezer and screamed bloody murder as that big ol' bear head was in there looking up at me. He was going to have it mounted.

rattlesnake(didn't know it at the time and it was NASTY), bear, moose, coon, and alligator but alligator was the only one i liked

mountain oysters and I actually like them and will order them at a place near me...for those that don't know they are cow or pig nuts and I prefer the cow but I'm a country girl
