There are MANY things I want to stock up on, one of them being laundry detergent. Can you tell me what is considered a good deal, aside from being FREE, so I know when to wait and when to buy? Also, what brands tends to be the best deal?

Thanks for posting this question. I am looking forward to the answers. I make my own laundry soap and it ends up being just a couple cents per load but if people are able to get laundry soap for free or where it would be pennies a load I'd love to find out.

For me, it kind of depends on how bad I need it at the time. The 'ole supply and demand theory I suppose.
For instance, WAGS has BOGO Arm & Hammer this week for $6.99 (I think that's the right price). I'm not in desperate need for it right now, so I'm passing on the deal. However, if I NEEDED laundry detergent, I would grab this in a heart beat! With stuff like this, I try to stockpile it a little at a time instead of looking for a mega deal and buying a ton all at once. Same with TP and paper towels. |

My price point is $1.
Last year CVS had a deal on Wisk. Scored 10 bottles for $1 each after coupons. (32 load) Last week Save A Lot had Xtra (48 load) for $1.99 each but was able to print my 2 - $1/1 coupons so that made it $1 each. |

I found Wisk laundry detergent 32 loads at walmart for $4.97 (approximately) and I had a coupon for $3/1 so I paid only $1.97

Not sure if there is one in your area. If it is, they have All laundry detergent for $2.99 with the MVP and there is a SS coupon today for $1/1. HTH.

Thanks everyone. I don't have a RA or CVS or even an awesome grocery store. Just Walgreens (30 min. away) and a Pick N' Save (60+ min. away) which offers doubles on Wednesdays, up to 5 coupons. So I'm really feeling stuck just waiting for a couple of stores to offer a great price on the things I need. If only I had a CVS, RA, Walgreens and Krogers at my disposal. I wouldn't know what to do with myself!

My personal price point is $1.50 for 32 loads for what I use most of the time. I use All Free and Clear for my husband's uniforms, and my price point on that is almost twice as much, just because it's harder to find sales AND coupons, when it's something that specific. Luckily I only do a load or two a week with that, though, so one bottle lasts around 6 months.
