How do the giveaways work on facebook?
I always see them pop up from the people I follow on facebook but I have never tried one.

I agree, each giveaway is different. But usually it involves going to the manufacturer's or store's facebook page and "liking" them. There's usually then a form you fill out to try to win or register for free samples, coupons, etc.

I subscribe to hip2save on facebook, and the girl who runs it lists a lot of facebook promotions.

Different blogs inform me on facebook when there is a facebook giveaway. So far
I got blush, energy bar, 2 pairs os socks, and a free bottle of pantene shampoo coupon.
