I don't care what anyone says that scene was staged. Don't let it bother you too much.
I'm starting to think TLC and Fox News are cousins ![]() |

It was staged, the store came out saying they regretting taping.
I think the first season was okay because it opened the door, but season 2 is just...I have no words. I'm glad people are learning about the power of a coupon, BUT it didn't need to happen like this. After watching one episode of Season 2 I am so glad I said no. And would go back and say no again if I had to. I'm Kelly, Army wife to John, and mom to Samantha (4) & Allison (2).

its like a car accident on the opposite side of the highway.. its so hard to resist craning your neck to see the wreck and its equally hard to look away once you see it happening..

I have the show to thank for turning me on to coupons. But this season isn't even about the coupons. I saw maybe 10min of coupons last night and about 45 min of those women being way too theatrical! Getting your bill from $500 to $40 is a great deal, yet this woman was sitting there pouting. It makes couponing seem like a fail, unless you get 90% savings!
As long as I save at least 20% I'm ecstatic! |

I will forever be grateful to this show for turning me on to couponing.
I appreciate the people on this show who do things the correct way; however, there are always going to be people, on the show, or in everyday life that try to 'get around the system', whatever it may be. (Example: trying to use 20 like coupons in one transaction when the store's coupon policy clearly states 10). I still enjoy watching the show but I have to admit that I do not agree with clearing shelves. I had a shelf clering incident back when the $3/1 Nivea coupon was out. Went to Wal Mart with TWO coupons and I got to the store and there was only ONE bottle left. I took the last one because we actually needed it, but i felt guilty and frustrated at the same time. No fun. |

It's like a train wreck for me, I can't seem to stop watching but it makes me furious all at the same time. I have always used coupons, I was interested when season one came on because I thought to myself "what am I doing wrong"? I learned a little bit from the show so that was good but it has turned couponing in to a fad. Sad part is because of its "popularity" we are now seeing coupon policies change which impacts how we shop. It also means we are dealing with more and more empty shelves. I live in a smaller town, if I don't get to the store first thing on Monday I don't find anything. It makes me so angry. I spend all this time price matching, checking stores for unadvertised sales, clipping, filing and making lists all to get to the store and come out with nothing. I can only hope that soon enough all the hype dies down. I think the show is staged for the most part. I live in an area that stores do double but I never see those kind of savings. A usual day for me at the store is between a 50-70 percent savings. People watch the show and think they can go do what these people do. It isn't normal. This is also when a shelf clearer is born! I was reading a blog and saw a person who posted a picture of the WALL of scrubbing bubbles kits she has. Who needs like 40 of those things??? Come on.........I have yet to get one because of this. Oh well, like I said hopefully it will all die down soon and we can back to our "normal" way of shopping!
