I wished I had kept better track of my savings last year, so....that is my resolution this year. i'm starting today, downloaded my spreadsheet and entered my first transaction.
I know for 2011, my savings at kroger alone, without coupons was just shy of $1,800.00. But i also used a ton of of Q's, plus I shopped Meijer, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreen's, Staples, Target, Kmart, and Walmart. So I know my savings was in the thousands. But I want to definitely keep track of everything this year. I think it would be a great way for me to know what I'm spending out of pocket on everything and to see what I'm actually saving. Plus, I can have bragging rights to my friends/family who think I'm CRAZY for coupons! lol And I'm sure it will make hubby proud. |

When you keep track, do you just do sales price and how much you saved with coupons?
Or do you do full price and what you save with it being on sale AND coupons? It's hard too, because a lot of my savings is from pm all my fresh veggie type stuff at Walmart. I don't know how much I save, but I know I do. ![]() |

I just did coupons only this year and last I think it was.
2009 I kept track of reg. price/sale price difference. Reg price/clearance price. Savings I had from cutting my dh's and son's hair (5 males in this household), and a few other things. You can calculate your yearly savings however you want. It's up to you. No set rules for something like that.

I just made me an excel sheet and so far this year (Since yesterday) I saved 41.52.
A 67% savings. I set up my excel for coupon and saving card amounts. If I put in real prices it would of been better, but to me if I go on a shopping trip, it would just be to time consuming to figure out all the differences for each item. And I also set my Excel up so that I get the savings percentage when I crunch in the numbers. ![]() |

Coupons total = $16,788.70

But since I know me, I wouldn't do it for every shopping trip for the year so I don't want to do it then to just quit doing it. Yeah, I don't like failure.![]() |

I might just add them in once a week. I will let my receipts accrue first. I have a pouch that I put all my receipts in everytime I check out.
