I just spoke to a store manager at one of the Bloom stores that are closing here in the N VA area about using Manufacturer Coupons (MQs) and the %/off sales.

Here is the latest--

1. Bloom (and I assume also the Food Lion stores closing) WILL ACCEPT MQ(s) ONLY for the Face Value.

2. You CANNOT use the Bloom/Food Lion Web Coupons at the stores that are closing.

3. You CAN use the Bloom Web Coupons for Bloom SD(s) 01/28/12, Saturday at the Bloom stores that are NOT closing.

4. The %/off sales for Bloom/Food Lion stores closing will be 50%/off starting 01/25/12, Wednesday. After the w/o of 01/25/12, the %'s will go to 75%/off and so forth.

5. Bloom stores that are closing in N VA (and I assume Food Lion too) will most like close by 02/12/12.

6. Bloom store hours for the stores that are closing are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday to Saturday (7 days a week).

At the stores that I called in N VA that are closing (Bloom stores), there is
still a good selection of merchandise.

The Herndon store on Elden is not accepting any manufacturer coupons I was in yesterday and they still had some produce and a little meat. I'm looking forward to seeing what's left when they go to 75% off! I was in there yesterday and they said their official closing date is 2/15. I felt really bad for them. Getting notice right after the holidays must be really tough. I hope another store comes in quickly and hopefully they'll hire a lot of the same people.

My store in Locust Grove was still doubling as of an hour ago. It will convert to Food Lion rather than close.

The stores that are closing (as opposed to converting) are currently discounting 50%. Coupons are accepted, but will NOT double. This is only for stores that are closing.

In N VA area, I went to the Ft. Evans Rd., Leesburg, VA Bloom store early at 8 a.m. and before 50%/off and MQ(s), my total was $500+. After 50%/off and MQ(s) which are just scanned for Face Value not doubled at the stores that are closing, my final total was under $200.

I will post my info later. The Ft. Evans store is across from the Leesburg Premium Outlet Mall near the Home Depot in Leesburg, VA. They had tons of stuff, etc.
