I used to love couponing at kroger but lately it seems like they changed their policy and no one told me. I've bought managers special items with coupons and no problem. Yet today I found crave cat treats marked .49 and I had a .50 coupon. Kroger has given me the overage in the past but the cashier just handed it back to me. Then I tried to use an internet coupon on another item. It beepes and was handed back to me. Also a .50 coupon I noticed on my receipt didn't double. All of these were fifteenth shopping trips in the past month. Was there a policy change I didn't hear about? Publix is 10miles away but I've found myself there more often lately. I'd prefer to only have todrive the mile to kroger!

Sorry that you had a bad trip! Most Kroger stores have been changing their coupon policies lately. It is very frustrating. Maybe talk with the manager and see if the policy has truly changed. Just remember, if an internet coupon does not scan, most stores will not accept it. The cashier may have just been having a bad day and decided to take it out on everyone, which IMO is no excuse. Also check at the customer service counter and they should have their coupon policy listed there.

I feel like if there were that many discrepancies, it may have been a cashier that was tired and ready to go home.
I would definitely ask (I usually just ask my store manager, he is very customer friendly) and make sure there haven't been any changes lately. If there have, then get yourself a copy of the new policy and make yourself familiar with it so you will be prepared if they hand them back again.I have couponed at my Kroger for years, and I have learned whcih cashiers to avoid. There are two cashiers at my store that simply don't want to deal with coupons. I avoid them if possible, if not I just kill 'em with kindness. ![]() This post may contain affiliate links

These were three different cashiers on three different occasions. The manager at the store is never any help. He is actually quite rude. Supposedly cashiers are getting fired for one coupon slip up and they are all jumpy. At least that is what I was told. The two recent ones were new so I'm starting to wonder if someone has told them that. If you tell them customer service said you can use coupons on managers special they will argue that customer service was lying! I think I'm just going to start finding out my favorite cashier schedule and only go when she is working. If a coupon won't go through she will find a way to make it work if it means getting customer service over. If she sees me in line she will ask people if they want their catalina coupons and if they say no she will give them to me. People refuse the money off next order coupons!

I have never gotten overage at Kroger, the coupon usually adjusts down automatically. But I quit shopping my fav Kroger due to a front end manager telling the cashier to manually enter my coupon zoo it would not double. He had told cashier to tell me I can't just walk into their store and get things for free with my coupons, that I needed to pay something!!! What nerve?!

I guess this varies by store. I print in black and white and don't have problems.

My store won't accept a coupon for the items that have the yellow and orange sticker on them. But they'll take a coupon for the closeout items (ones with white and red tags on the shelf).

I'm so sorry you've had a nasty experience. Yes, the past couple of months things have changed. No more coupons on manager specials (you're lucky if it doesn't beep). If a IP doesn't scan they wont accept it (written in the new coupon policy), and no overage, unless like now at the Megasale where you'll get the discount as far as possible. But, usually the coupon selfadjust down. Bummer, I know

Sry you're having trouble. I've learned to go in the evening. Cashiers seem to be more coupon friendly. But like the other posts, Kroger will not accept an IP if it beeps. I don't print a lot of coupons so I print in color, so if it beeps cashier will call over CS and they usually accept it.
With the new coupon policy, Kroger doesn't give overage anymore. (at least in my area). If your coupon is for more than the product it usually adjusts down. I hope you can get clarification on your stores coupon policy. Good Luck! Co-Forum Leader Kroger
