I am trying to find a legitimte virtual assistant website to find VA jobs.
Looking for something flexible to help support our income while I am starting my own business on the side. Something other than Elance... If anyone has any REAL experience with one of these sites, I would appreciate hearing your experiences.

Are you the one trying to find an online job as a virtual assistant? Or are you trying to seek for a virtual assistant to help you with your business?

I've had good experiences from the virtual assistants from Staff.com.

You can check their full time freelance VAs (including other skills) if you need one. They went through a rigid hiring process so I would highly recommend the people there.

Actually I am looking to find a job as one at this time.

You can still sign up at Staff.com as an employee. If you've got the skills, then you are well qualified.

I got my work at home job through odesk.com. They have VA job postings from legit employers.

What does a VA do, exactly? I was an assistant for someone a while back but everything I did I had to be there in person. What are the qualifications?

When you are a virtual assistant, it's pretty much the same except you will be doing only the things that could be outsourced.

For instance, managing of emails, doing research, making phone calls, etc. Of course, when you are a VA, you cannot make your boss a cup of coffee.
