I tried a sock loom once. My hands got tired before I finished the first heal. I quit. The sock yarn is so tiny it would have taken me a year to finish a pair of socks.
I have the round looms and the longer oblong looms as well but have not made anything other than a few hats a few years ago. What is it that you make with the looms? What type do you have? I would love to try the newer knit ones that you simply thread the yarn through and push down on and then thread it through again. I just don't have the funds for that kind.

i got a ton of looms lol got 2 sets of rounds, 1 set the long, 1 scarf, 1 flower, 2 spools and new one is the Martha Stewart where can adjust the shape and peg size. not sure what the one your talking about where just thread it. i try to do double strands or a bulky/chunky yarn so goes faster lol gonna try the sock thread on small pegs and ms to try baby socks first.

i do hats mostly, scarfs are new thing, ruffle ones and magic/strechy, and got 2 blankets going as well

Weaving Looms at Lion Brand Yarn Company

the weaving looms is what i was referring to. I always wanted to do those, they seem fairly easy but expensive.

My mom made me 7 of the ruffle ones, though she crocheted them. A bit on the shorter side and i use them as curtain tie backs. Make everything look more elegant. LOL.

I made a few scarves a few years ago using the smaller of the long set and they came out so warm and thick. I even used the cheaper Red Heart yarn and they are comfy.

My sock loom just sits in a drawer with the pathetic ankle and heal part done on one sock. I have quite a few of the yarns that I got on clearance when Michaels was moving their yarn display around in the store.

Once I finish the 2 crochet blanket projects that I have going on how I may just use up that scrap yarn and loom a hat or two. I do find that I do not like the socks with any other yarn than the sock yarns. The cotton yarns just hurt my feet. More of a lounging sock I guess, although I crocheted those.
