Default Refinanced my car today...

I have to say first of all, I love my insurance company. They literally bent over backwards to get me the best rate, and they do financial business too. Today they offered me a rate of 6.04%, compared to the 6.9% from the Credit Union. I was all for that, it drops my rate by a few dollars and they were just so nice about everything.

My agent even called to find out my credit score, which has gone up about 20 points in the last year, thanks to my paying off 3 credit cards and learning to correctly manage my 1 credit card left. The length of my loan is the same, and when they figured my loan, they actually loaned more than I owed, and cut me a check.

I get a really nice 20% discount at work (WM) next week as a thank-you for working on Blitz. I am going to use this windfall to finish those last-minute extras I need to pick up for Christmas, and we get a sweet $350 quarterly bonus the next paycheck, which I will put toward my new car loan. I'm just happy to be saving some money, even a little bit. I figure if I keep overpaying (payment went from $197 to $194 a month) and budgeting for my $200/month payment I can get this thing paid off really quick!

I am curious about something if I may inquire. What is the current rate on that one card you owe? Also, how much are you saving (i.e. emergency fund)? There is a specific reason I ask this.

You know, I really don't know what my rate is on that card. I plan to pay it off right after Christmas and put like $100 a month into savings. When I bought the car last year I was really tight with all these credit cards and I have focused on paying them all down to a manageable amount. I am down to the last one now, YAY!, and once I finish that I want to put ALL of those payments either into savings or throw it at my car. I don't want to be paying on a car for the rest of my life, hah.
