Yea, i know if the pain doesnt' go away i will need an MRI , but gosh, even with the % my insurance will pay, i am betting it is still gonna cost me around 500-600 bucks !ugh!

out of pocket we paid with no insurance was 1500 dollars also a mir out of the hospital is cheaper than in a hospital. SOme doctors like close MIr instead of open MIr and some doctors will tell you they like one place better than another place. the doctor only haVE TO write a script and you can call around and check with your insurance and see who in your nettwork and find the cheapest place.
I been doing this for a while now with my dd about mir.The mir PLACES HERE ask us do we want to make payments and if we paid in full we was able to get a 20 percent discount with no insurance.

DH has had these problems for years!! He has 2 slipped discs and a pinched nerve it was so bad when it happened he was out of work for 11 months. He is a UPS driver and since he didn't have full range of motion in his neck he couldn't drive. Anyway, he did the steroids and anti inflammatory route. They helped some but the best relief he has is the chiropractor. he goes once a month and nothing eases the pain like these sessions do.

Thank you- i have thought about a chiropractor- but around here a good one is hard to find and i am scared to death of them popping something out of whack- i keep reading the stats on people that go to Chiropractors have a higher risk of a stroke! ... i know, i know... quit reading on the internet, right!? ok.. here's to hoping a week of meds works! thanks everyone for all the input, it helps to have all the info and advice you can get!

I am sorry that you are having back trouble. Please, Please be very careful with any suggestions that the drs give you.....research what they say and ask loads of questions.

Do Not have surgery unless your pain is unbearable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My surgery made me 10 times worse than I was before it.

Just pulling a muscle in my neck caused me to have horrible headaches, constant pain, and numbness in my left shoulder. I could barely move my head when it first started. It's been a month and I still have numbness in the left side of my neck, but the headaches are gone thankfully. I saw a chiropractor and my doctor. The chiropractor helped some. The doctor said if I lost muscle strength or nerve sensation, then I should come back and we would do further tests. I was taking prescription strength Motrin constantly.

UPDATE***
I am almost through with my Steroid pack and have been taking my anti-inflamatories now for a week and i am feeling relief.. not all the way gone, so i hope time will heal that.. but i am sure keeping my fingers crossed this is fixed.. i do not want to do MRi's and all that other junk!
