Why is the rep option even available if it's so confusing and restrictive?

I wonder if it's just a part of the vBulletin forum setup/style. I've seen it on several sites who uses the vBullentine format.


It's a way to leave a message to the poster without leaving a reply to a thread.

When I have access to it (just tried to rep your post and I have been cut-off again for giving too much rep) I really like it because I can leave a personalized note of thanks for the user, without adding another post to the thread.

It really is a cool feature; just wish it was more user friendly!

Yes, it is part of the vBulletin programming. It's not something that w can take away because of it's inconvenience. It really isn't confusing. You just have to use one system or the other and there are only so many reps in a 24 hr period, I think. It's really hard to use both the thanks and the reps.

Try just using the rep system instead of the Thanks and see if that works for you!

I had no idea there was a rep button until I saw this post, I always just Thank post that are helpful.
